City mayor to save

Cologne -
"The Cologne few fees to pay," said City Treasurer Dr. Norbert Walter-Borjans (SPD) on Wednesday to EXPRESS.
The League of taxpayer rage, but Mayor Jürgen Roters (SPD) gives the treasurer backing.
"Walter Borjans right," says Roters. "The citizens must be prepared that they will pay in future for services rendered to the city of Cologne for her, a bit more. But it must be socially equitable. "
The treasurer plans to increase revenue. "If they stay in Cologne as half a billion euros after the expenditure is all wrong. Prices are related to costs part of the solution. I too am for subsidies in key areas - such as for culture and leisure. But then I urge the courage to raise the necessary taxes and other benefits to the strike. "
The League of Taxpayers rages: "The cities have no revenue, but an output problem," says Harald Schledorn. "The citizen is not a cash cow. Cologne is to save and, for example, 60 instead of 90 Council members and two instead of four mayors do. "
FDP faction leader Ralph Sterck sees things differently: "It is right to tell the citizens what things cost. We reject the attempt does not work, instead of constructive. "
His colleague, Barbara Moritz (Green) said: "We keep in huge deals, pay for only the Cologne in the form of subsidies from tax revenues. I demand that the surrounding communities pay a culture assessment to the city of Cologne. Or that the country Gürzenich the orchestra to the State Orchestra, the spectacle of the State Theater or two, three museums with the State Museum is co-financed and so ".
